Another Fun Day at Disneyland
Brian has this whole week off of work for the July 4th holiday. We're desperately trying to get all of our boxes unpacked so we can feel a little more settled. However, we also wanted this to be a fun week for the girls. We spent Wednesday at Disneyland. We spent most of the day at California Adventure Park. It was less crowded here, and the rides were completely new for the girls. Elsa loved California Screamin'. Brian went with her once, and then I went two more times with her. She has a stomach of steel. I was queasy after the first time, and the second time did me in. Once again, Greta was a great sport. She enjoyed walking around and climbing through all the bars and railings in the lines. We have a great system to avoid long lines. We get the fast passes and then the stroller pass. Brian would take the girls on the first round, and then I would take them both again with the stroller pass. This was fun for the girls to go on each ride twice in a row. Fortunately, the lines weren't long for most of the rides regardless of having a fast pass. Both Elsa and Ava are at the perfect age. They are tall enough for almost all the rides. They love the thrill rides that make me and Brian sick. We went to more shows this time around, which they enjoyed. It gave us a chance to get out of the hot sun and relax. Greta got freaked out by the spiders in "It's a Bug's Life" show. It was kind of funny. The highlight of the day was the Grizzly River Run. They came off the ride soaked and tried to convince me that I wouldn't get wet at all. Contrary to their story, we got soaked again. Elsa and Ava were dripping in water. Fortunately, I had a change of clothes for each of them. It made the rest of the day a little more comfortable for all of us. We stayed late enough to watch the firework show. It was quite spectacular. It was a great way to end a perfect day.
