Christmas Eve

Elsa is an angel along with her three cousins, Abby, Elizabeth, and Anna.
Ava as the Virgin Mary with Andrew as Joseph. (She doesn't seem very heavy with child compared to how I feel right now.)
Most of the grandchildren in the Christmas Nativity.

We arrived in Utah late afternoon Christmas Eve. We had just enough time to unpack the car and change the girls out of the pajamas before dinner started. (We had been driving through most of the night to make it in time for Christmas Eve festivities.) One of the biggest highlights of the evening was the grand children's re-enactment of the Nativity. Ava had called her Grandma weeks before with one request - that she could be Mary. This was all she could talk about weeks prior to Christmas. Her cousin, Sarah, wanted to be Mary too. Ava didn't mind having more than one Mary, just as long as she was Mary too. It was a fun production, and I was impressed with all the grandchildren. Even Thomas indulged and acted as Inn Keeper and Caesar Augustus. Afterwards, the kids ate chocolate chip cookies, leaving only a few for Santa. Before bedtime, Elsa and Ava opened one present. In following with my family tradition, it is always a pair of new Christmas pajamas. It was a little anti-climatic to get pajamas, but at least Elsa was excited. We were all ready for bed after a long drive. Even the anticipation of Santa's arrival didn't keep us up too late.
