We Have a Tangerine Tree

There are three small trees in our yard that are shadowed by an extremely large oak tree. We weren't sure if these trees produced anything. They look like lime or lemon trees. We even had an arborist come look at them and thought of transplanting them in a sunnier location, but he didn't think they would thrive. Fortunately, they are thriving in the shade of the oak tree. Brian went out last week and found dozens of tangerines on one tree. (We're still not sure what the other two trees are.) More and more groupings of tangerines continue to grow and turn orange. We've enjoyed picking fresh tangerines from our tree. They taste so fresh and tangy, not sour and no seeds. Aren't we so lucky! Tangerines, oranges, and grapefruit are reminiscent of Christmas. Our dentist, Dr. Petty, would always give my family a big box of oranges each Christmas season. Now we have our own to enjoy!
