Greta Turns One

Greta turned one last Wednesday. This is the best picture of the celebration. Greta was more excited to be out on the balcony.
Greta wasn't very cooperative with the photo shoot. Too bad the lighting didn't make it any better.
Greta took a few handfuls of her cake....
Then she crawled through it and was done. The cake, tissue paper, presents - nothing compelled her to stay sitting. She is a mover and always on the go. I can't believe how fast this year went. Greta is growing up too fast. Just a few days before her birthday, she started walking. She just stood up from a sitting position and walked across the room. Elsa and I were watching, anticipating a fall after each step. We were surprised to watch her cross the room successfully. Greta sat down and clapped for herself. We joined in on her celebration. She is a happy baby and so patient. She likes to be outside. She hears the door open and races to the door. She cries whenever someone leaves and doesn't take her. She also loves climbing stairs. Since we don't have any in our apartment, whenever we get to a house, she finds them in seconds and starts climbing. She loves swimming, playing in the sand at the beach, and just being wherever there is activity. The cutest thing she does is wave by bending her fingers towards herself. She also loves dancing to any type of music. Ava has a Sharpee barbie doll that has a microphone that plays one of the songs from HSM. Greta carries the microphone around all day, presses on the button and dances to the music. It cracks me up. There is so much that changes constantly with her. I am not ready for my baby to grow-up. We all adore our precious Greta.

How can she already be one - I haven't even sent a baby present?! Happy Birthday Greta!
