She was a little nervous at sight of the saw, but put on a brave face.
All smiles.
On Thursday the 14th, I took Ava for her four week check-up for her broken leg. Ava's leg had healed enough to have her cast removed. The break is still evident from x-rays and probably won't be completely healed for a few months. Besides a little atrophy, her leg looked better than expected. Ava hesitated to walk on her leg for the first 24 hours. With a little bribery she started limping on it. After three days, she walks on it well but with her knee still extended and a stiff ankle. This is to be expected since she hasn't had mobility of these joints for over a month. I've been helping her with stretching and simple bending. She looks gimpy as she walks. I get a lot of sympathy/pity stares at the grocery store and church. We'll give her another week before we will consider physical therapy. We are so happy that she will be cast-free for the summer. Thanks to all of you who have kept her in your thoughts and prayers.
