We spent Easter Sunday going to church and spending the afternoon with Brian's family. We had a fabulous meal, our traditional Seared Salmon and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes with Tomato Chive sauce. This is one of my favorite meals. It is so good! Brian's parents had a grand plan of placing dollar bills on the blades of the family room ceiling fan. (This involved Brian climbing to the top of a ladder placed on top of a table. They needed his height. Then he used salad tongs to place the stacks of bills on the blades. We thought there was no way that the kids would notice the alterations in appearance. However, the first thing Elsa said the next morning was "Why do Grandma and Grandpa put their money on the fan?") All the grandchildren had to close their eyes and then were led in a long train into the family room. Grandma turned the fan on and it rained money. The kids enjoyed the pandemonium along with the traditional Easter egg hunt in their backyard. Not too much candy, but a lot of loose change. Elsa and Ava enjoyed counting and adding up their spoils. Leave it to grandparents to raise the bar in expectations!
